Poe graduated with BDS (Hons) from Sydney University in 1990, and practiced in Cowra (in the Central Tablelands of NSW) for over 8 years. He returned to Sydney in 1999 as his fiancée (now wife) started doctoral studies at University of New South Wales, and purchased Dr Frank Harding’s surgery as Dr Frank had decided to retire. Knowing how nervous people are about coming to the dentist, Poe offers laser assisted dentistry with a Kavo KEY Laser 3, currently the only dental laser that detects and only removes decay, leaving healthy tooth. The Laser, in some cases, may reduce or eliminate the need for injections and drills for fillings. Where the tooth needs to be numb, where appropirate, Poe uses The Wand assisted injection system to minimise discomfort, and also the Injex needleless injection system for those who fear the needle.
